Unlike depressants that can cause addiction problems and even knock people out for a duration, herbal medication that relaxes tend to present very few potential risks and they do not necessarily put people out and down for the count. • Gentleness - In most cases, herbal medication that relaxes is very gentle and has few implications for grogginess. It does pay to read potential side effects, however, just to err on the side of caution.

• Chamomile - When relaxing the nerves is the plan, this herbal medication that relaxes is considered an excellent choice. Widely available and quite affordable, this herb is considered gentle and safe in most cases. Pregnant women should not use this, however.
• Lavender - This is generally used in aromatherapy. It is widely known to promote relaxation.
• Food - Some food items, such as bananas, milk and turkey are known to promote relaxation thanks to an amino acid they share in common. They are also great for helping ease into sleep.

Herbal medication that relaxes can come in many forms. Generally, this option is an excellent one for avoiding potential complications of harsher medicines. Still, it is wise to carefully review the options and know the side effects and possible concerns. Talking with a doctor is also a good idea before introducing herbal supplements into daily routine.
